Arrive at Malaga Airport (AGP). Pick up your rental car (highly recommended for flexibility ).

Course: La Hacienda Links (formerly Alcaidesa Links). Located very close to Sotogrande.   

  • Why: This is the only true links course in southern Europe, recently redesigned by Kurtis Bowman to widespread acclaim. It offers stunning views over the Mediterranean towards Gibraltar and Africa and provides a different style of challenge to start your trip. It was recently voted one of Spain's best by users of a respected industry website.   

  • Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of SO/ Sotogrande's restaurants or explore dining options in the Sotogrande marina.

Course: San Roque Club - Old Course. Located very near your hotel.   

  • Why: A highly-regarded championship course designed by Dave Thomas with input from Tony Jacklin. Known for its picturesque and challenging layout, it has hosted numerous professional events and offers beautiful panoramic views. It provides a classic Southern Spain parkland experience.   

  • Evening: Relax at the hotel or perhaps visit the traditional clubhouse at San Roque, known for its golf memorabilia.

Course: La Reserva Club Sotogrande. Located within the Sotogrande estate.   

  • Why: A modern masterpiece designed by Cabell B. Robinson , consistently ranked among Spain's best. Known for its wide fairways, large undulating greens, stunning views, and excellent facilities, including the Manuel Piñero Golf Academy. It has hosted LET events like the Aramco Team Series.   

  • Evening: Consider dining at La Reserva's L'Olive restaurant in their impressive clubhouse.

Take a break from golf to explore the region. Choose from options like:

  • Ronda: A spectacular clifftop town famous for its Puente Nuevo bridge, historic bullring, and traditional Andalusian charm (approx. 1.5-2 hour drive).   

  • Gibraltar: Visit the famous Rock for unique views, history, and maybe even dolphin watching (approx. 30-40 minute drive).   

  • Marbella & Puerto Banús: Explore Marbella's charming Old Town (Casco Antiguo) and contrast it with the glamorous marina, designer shops, and vibrant atmosphere of Puerto Banús (approx. 30-40 minute drive).   

  • Evening: Return to SO/ Sotogrande.

  • Course: Real Club de Golf Sotogrande (Sotogrande Old). Located within Sotogrande.   

  • Why: The first course designed in Europe by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. (opened 1964). A timeless classic, consistently ranked #2 or #3 in Spain. Known for its wide fairways, elevated greens, mature trees, and understated elegance. It has hosted numerous prestigious amateur and professional events.   

  • Note: This is a private club; booking well in advance is essential, and weekday play might be preferred or required for visitors.

  • Course: Finca Cortesin Golf Club. Located in Casares (approx. 30-40 minute drive).   

  • Why: Host of the thrilling 2023 Solheim Cup and multiple Volvo World Match Play Championships. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson , it's a long, challenging course known for immaculate conditioning, stunning views, and exceptional service associated with its luxury hotel. Ranked #1 in Spain for Customer Service.   

  • Evening: Enjoy a final dinner in Sotogrande or at the hotel.

 Day 8: Golf Round 6 - Real Club Valderrama

  • Course: Real Club Valderrama. Located within Sotogrande.   

  • Why: The pinnacle. Consistently ranked #1 in Spain and Continental Europe, and a World Top 100 course. Famous host of the 1997 Ryder Cup , numerous Volvo Masters , WGC events , and now LIV Golf. Designed/redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Sr. , it's known as the "Augusta of Europe" for its demanding, strategic layout defined by cork oaks and immaculate conditioning.   

  • Note: Extremely exclusive. Book tee times months in advance. Strict handicap limits apply (Men 24, Ladies 32). A forecaddie is mandatory. Green fees are among the highest in Europe.
